CHATAN TORAH & KALLAH BERESHIT
Beginners Judaism Course
It’s devastating that 6,000,000 Jews died in the holocaust, but how can anyone possibly comprehend such an unbelievably high number. As much as we try it is unimaginable.
It is our aim at Sha’arei Shalom to show what this figure would look like, but we need your help. We are going to collect 6,000,000 pennies, the aim for raising this money is for a new Sefer Torah for our synagogue, which we are in desperate need of, and in order that this tragedy will never be forgotten.
There will be a box in the synagogue foyer where everyone can put their pennies to build up this figure ( or other denominations which can be changed into pennies). Regular updates of the number of pennies collected will be on Facebook page, Shul website and posters.
Also when we reach our target there will be a special event to show how much 6,000,000 really is.
Please help us with our Penny Appeal by spreading the word, collecting pennies off others or organising fund raising events; ALL funds raised will be changed back into pennies.
For further information or queries contact:- The Shul Office on 0161 796 6736
